Manju Jois, Ashtanga Yoga guru from Mysore, South India, is the eldest son of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, recognized worldwide as the main authority in Ashtanga Yoga. Manju was born on November 16, 1944. At the age of 7, Manju was awakened every day by his father very early to begin the lessons that would forever change the course of his life and the lives of those who would study with him in the coming years. He began his teaching career at the age of 15 years with his father and has taught ever since.

Manju considers it a great honor to be the son of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. "He is my father and my teacher. I am very grateful to both my mother and my father. "Manju's mother, Savatri Jois, (Sathu for her family) was a beloved wife, loving mother and an expert in Indian cuisine. Manju is dedicated to his wife Nancy and his daughter Sathu, who is named after his paternal grandmother, born in 2002. Sathu is a young woman with many talents, who continues to bless the Jois family beyond measure.

Manju has taught the true Mysore Ashtanga method for over 47 years. Encompassing 22 countries and the 21 US states, the journey of teaching Ashtanga in the world through Manju is increasingly widespread. Manju is grateful to Gary Herlich and all the other people who helped Manju to stay in the United States when he began teaching in North America.

It offers weekend workshops of Ashtanga, classes for teachers and week-long training. It incorporates pranayama and Vedic chants in its classes, which go very well with the practice of Ashtanga yoga. Manju's intention is to teach on the path of Ancient Tradition and bring the many benefits of Ashtanga Yoga to its students.

His desire is to bring "better understanding and understanding" of Ashatanga yoga to his students in a world full of distractions. Manju's dedication to his life as a teacher and practitioner of yoga has brought the benefits of the ancient Ashtanga Yoga Manju tradition to many students around the world, by guiding each of them to "Unite with himself”.  Manju has been with Tina Pashumati James for 18 years and has been coming to her schools since 2002.
